Pool Builder Licensing and Insurance Requirements in Texas
Texas doesn't license general contractors the way some states do, which makes it more important, not less, to confirm insurance and trade-specific licensing directly. This site is built around the high end of what gunite construction allows: negative/infinity edges, swim-up bars, sun shelves, fire-and-water features, and full outdoor-living integration with decking, kitchens, and shade structures designed alongside the pool, not as an afterthought.

What Texas Does and Doesn't Require
Texas has no statewide general contractor license requirement, but electrical and plumbing work on a pool project is performed by state-licensed electricians and plumbers regardless of who the general contractor is, and that licensing is verifiable through the relevant state board.
What to Ask For Directly
Ask for proof of general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage, and ask which licensed electrician and plumber are performing that portion of the work, their license numbers are a matter of public record. A builder confident in its own documentation will produce this without hesitation.
